Our Gate Types
When it comes to driveway gates there are two configurations: swing and sliding.
Both offer distinct advantages, and the ideal choice depends on your specific needs and property layout.
Swing
- Suit difficult shaped entrances
- Perfect for entrance-ways that can’t accommodate a sliding gate or have angles involved
- Require space inside or outside the property depending on which way the gates swing
- Needs ample clearance on the side the gate swings open to avoid hitting objects or taking up valuable parking space
- Not suitable for high wind sites
Single Swing

As the name suggests, this a single gate leaf that hinges on one post. Perfect for lighter weight gates, pedestrian gates or properties where you cannot easily set two gate posts. This is a cost-effective entry-level swing gate setup.
Double Swing

This configuration consists of two gate leaves instead one, this configuration is great if you are wanting to use a heavier design or have a larger opening. We have installed double swing gates up to 7m wide!
Bifold Swing

Bi-fold gates have a unique double-hinged system allowing each leaf to fold back onto itself – requiring only half of the width of the gate in its open position, saving you a considerable amount of space compared normal swing gates. Perfect for properties that are tight on space.
Sliding
- Un-intrusive
- Slide open along a track or rail
- Ideal for properties with limited space to park inside the driveway
- Less moving/wearing parts than swing gates
- Generally cheaper to install than swing gates
- Ideal for high wind sites
- Great for wider driveways
Tracked

The standard configuration for a sliding gate setup. A steel or aluminium track is fixed to the driveway for the gate to slide along. The driveway cannot be uneven but sloping is fine.
Cantilever

This setup is ideal for gravel, asphalt or uneven driveways where a track cannot be fixed too. A large concrete footing is poured and “carriages” are then fixed to the top off this footing. The gate is then installed on top of the carriages which support the gate while opening and closing.
Telescopic

This configuration relies on a track fixed to the driveway for the gate to slide along with two gate leafs. The front leaf or “leading” leaf travels at twice the speed of the trailing leaf meaning you can have a 6m wide gate that only requires a 3m space to open in to. Perfect for properties that are tight on space but still require a large driveway opening.
